Cylinder Head Service

The CRF300L's stock cylinder head leaves a lot to be desired. Sloppy casting, non-concentric valve seats, and other shortcomings are addressed with our CNC porting service, which includes a 5-angle valve job, head-resurfacing, plus new valves and seals.
The process starts with fully automated sculpting of the intake and exhaust ports on a 5-axis CNC machine. The combustion chamber also gets contoured. Then, the stock 3-angle valve seats are given a 5-angle profile. New OEM valves and seals are included, or you can upgrade to KPMI Black Diamond Valves for an additional $60.
With this porting service, total flow (measured in CFM) is increased by an average of 12 percent with this mod, increasing power across the rev range, but especially in the midrange (see dyno chart below). We have a specific Stage 3.5 ECU tune to match this setup.
Options explained:
-
-
Assembled head: Send us your complete, assembled head and we'll port and service it and provide new OEM or Kibblewhite valves and seals. Assembly includes setting the valve clearances using a bench engine. Turnaround time is typically 2-3 weeks. Please specify your bike's year when ordering. Option upgrade: Kibblewhite lightweight spring set.
- Replacement bare head: If you want to retain your stock head for whatever reason we'll ship you a pre-ported bare head (with new OEM or Kibblewhite valves and seals included but not installed - they go on after the spring seat is set on the guide) that you can swap your ancillary parts onto. Please specify your bike's year when ordering.

I took my first test drive today with my newly installed ported head, and what a difference! I was already running the Stage 3.0 setup, but stepping up to the Stage 3.5 setup with the ported head is another massive leap forward. Even compared to 3.0, the increase in torque at low and mid-range RPMs is immediately noticeable. It pulls like a tractor now while still feeling incredibly smooth.
I installed the ported head myself, along with the lighter valve springs, titanium retainers and Kibblewhite valves. I spent quite some time working on it, which makes the result even more rewarding. Special thanks to Ari for the excellent technical support throughout the process.
The CRF300 now can also stay in a higher gear at lower speeds. Cruising at 40 mph in 6th gear is no problem at all.
This is truly a top-notch setup, and I couldn’t be happier with it.

The work was fantastic! No problems in the process and you get what you pay for! Thank you for doing a great job!!
Ari is super helpful and sends back a true work of art. Got me down road again and the home is way better!
What a beautiful work of art. Professionally assembled with the most high quality parts. Clean and already set valve lash. Saved me a lot of time if I had to try and port and polish it myself and without a flow bench, there would be just guess work on my part. Follow the recommendations for a proper break in and you will have a great long lasting hard running machine for years to come.
I have been planning this upgrade for over a year now andI just got the Cylinder Head Service, with the Valvetrain Upgrades, to go with the Big bore Kit to get my CRF 300 Rally to Ari's 4.5 Stage which should give the Honda +52.3% more Peak Power.
It looks a beautiful the head, what workman ship, seems a shame it won't get seen. I can't wait to get this engine back in the bike and creating a perfect bike for may ability.
I have all the rest of the Upgrades for the Honda, so will get on with the Rebuild in New Year.
